About MatchFit

With increasing responsibilities at work and home – whether it’s a bigger workload, starting a family, or additional life pressures – we often forget to look after the most important asset we have – ourselves.

Performance Coach Andrew May draws upon decades of experience working with elite athletes, entrepreneurs and leaders, as well as weathering his own ‘perfect storm’ with the breakdown of his marriage, to provide a researched guide on what really creates optimal performance. Using his own body and brain as a Guinea pig, and integrating the latest in performance psychology, sport science, nutrition, neuroscience, sleep and recovery; Andrew provides a unique plan to get your body and brain in the best possible shape.

The MatchFit principles help you better manage your diary and plan for what is important; build your ability to cope with pressure and have more resilience; and support you in improving health and fitness levels. The book takes readers through three key stages:

  • CALCULATE: in conjunction with the online MatchFit Calculator, assess your current Biological Age, Brain Fitness, Stress & Recovery Index, Nutrition and Physical Activity.
  • ENGAGE: the heart of the book puts into practice an evidence-based methodology based on 6 primary levers showing you how to better MOVE, FUEL, RECHARGE, THINK, PLAY and CONNECT
  • TRACK: the final section shows you how to accurately monitor your progress, build accountability and reward your achievements.
