What personal information do we collect?

The personal information we collect depends on the program, course or service we provide:

For online programs, we collect:

  • identity and contact information, including your name and email address;
  • profile information, including your username and password for our websites, and information about how you use our websites, programs, services and products;
  • technical information, including your internet protocol (IP) address, browser type and version, location, browser plug-in types and versions, operating system and platform, and other technology on the devices you use to access our sites;
  • transaction information, including details of:
    • the programs, courses or services you have participated in, requested or enquired about;
    • the products you have purchased or enquired about; and
    • the resources you have requested or downloaded from our websites;

For calculators, we collect:

  • identity and contact information, including your name, date of birth, gender, email address;
  • health information, including physiology (body) and psychological (brain) survey information, including weight, activity and diet.

For human performance assessments, we collect:

  • identity and contact information, including your name, date of birth, gender, email address and phone numbers;
  • employment information, including your employer, occupation and job title;
  • health information, including physiology (body) and psychological (brain) survey information including weight, activity and diet, DEXA scans, DNA and blood pathology results.

We also collect information that is reasonably necessary for us to perform our business activities, including:

  • identity and contact information, including your name, email address, phone numbers and delivery address;
  • employment information, including information in the resume sent to us (including details of your employers and referees);
  • transaction information, including details of:
    • the programs, courses or services you have or enquired about;
    • the products you have purchased or enquired about; and
    • the resources you have requested or downloaded from our websites;
  • technical information, including your internet protocol (IP) address, browser type and version, location, browser plug-in types and versions, operating system and platform, and other technology on the devices you use to access our sites; and
  • marketing and communications information, including your preferences in receiving marketing from us and third parties, and your communication preferences.

You may choose to engage with us anonymously or use a pseudonym.

However, if you do not provide us with your personal information, we may not be able to enrol you in our programs or courses, or provide you with the services or products you request, either to the same standard or at all.

What sensitive information do we collect and hold?

Depending on the programs, courses or services we provide, we may also collect sensitive information about you. This could include information about your health, as set out in the section above. Unless required by law, we will only collect sensitive information with your consent.

How do we collect personal information?

We use different methods to collect personal information from and about you, including through:

  • direct interactions: you may give us your personal information when you enrol in our programs or courses, request that we provide services, register an account with us, subscribe to our publications, enter a competition, apply to work with us, engage with us on social media channels, give us feedback or contact us;
  • trusted partners: we work closely with trusted contractors and service providers to help us deliver our programs, courses and services. We may receive information about you from such partners including, with your consent, health information such as DEXA scans, nutrition plans, blood pathology results and physiology (body) and psychological (brain) reports; and
  • third parties: we may receive technical information from analytics providers (such as Google), financial and transaction data from providers of payment services (such as Stripe), identity and contact data from publicly available sources (such as ASIC), as well as from recruitment agencies, credit reporting agencies, law enforcement and other government entities.

Using cookies

We may also collect personal information through the use of cookies or similar technologies. A cookie is a small file of letters and numbers that is downloaded to your computer when you visit a website.

We use cookies to:

  • recognise your computer and allow you to access our websites without needing to log in;
  • keep track of the programs, courses, services or products you view so that we can send you information about those items; and
  • measure traffic patterns to review which areas of our site have been visited and carry out research on user activity so we can improve our websites.

You can disable cookies through your browser settings but it may restrict your ability to access certain areas of our websites.

Why do we collect, hold and use personal information?

We collect personal information about you in order to provide programs, courses, services and products to you, and to operate our business, including:

  • to deliver our programs, courses, services and products as requested;
  • to provide information about our programs, courses, services and our business;
  • to respond to your enquiries, feedback and other correspondence;
  • to provide you with access to our websites (including restricted areas for subscribers only);
  • to assess, optimise and protect our websites;
  • to conduct research and analysis on our programs, courses, services and products;
  • to carry out business operations and activities including recruitment and marketing; and
  • to comply with applicable laws, decisions or directions of a court or regulatory authority.

We do not sell, trade or rent personal information to anyone.

E-newsletters and direct marketing communications

We may send you marketing communications and information about our business, programs, courses, products and services, and those of our business partners that we think may be of interest to you.

You may opt-out of receiving e-newsletters and marketing communications at any time by using the unsubscribe facility in the marketing communications or by contacting us using the contact details below.  We will ensure that your name is removed from the mailing list.

To whom do we disclose personal information?

We may disclose and transfer your personal information:

  • to our officers, employees and associated entities;
  • to third party contractors and service providers located in Australia and overseas who help us operate our business, including
  • to trusted agents, partners, contractors and service providers with whom we partner to develop, deliver and improve our programs, courses and services, including psychologists, physiologists, physiotherapists, mindfulness and meditation practitioners, performance coaches and nutritionists; and
  • as required or authorised by law, including for law enforcement.

We may combine and share any information we collect and hold about you with information collected and held by our associated entities.

Is personal information disclosed outside Australia?

Yes. We may disclose and transfer your personal information to service providers located overseas (including USA) for some of the purposes listed above.  We will take reasonable steps to ensure that the overseas recipients of your personal information comply with privacy obligations relating to your personal information.

How can you access and correct your personal information? 

You can request access to the personal information we hold about you by contacting us using the contact details below.  If we cannot grant you access, we will tell you why.

If you believe that the information we hold about you is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading, please contact us and we will take reasonable steps to ensure it is corrected.

We may charge you a reasonable fee to cover our administrative and other reasonable costs in providing you with access to your personal information. We will not charge you for making the request or for making corrections to your personal information.

Third-party links

Our sites may contain links to websites operated by third parties.  We are not responsible for the content of any linked third-party sites, nor the privacy practices or policies of those sites.

Data security

We take reasonable steps to ensure your personal information is protected from misuse, interference and loss, as well as unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. We also limit access to your personal information to those employees, agents, contractors, service providers and other parties who have a business need to know.  They will only handle your personal information in accordance with our instructions and are subject to a duty of confidentiality.

We hold your personal information in hard copy or electronic form on our servers and with the assistance of our service providers.  We will take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify personal information when it is no longer needed.

Changes to the Privacy Policy

We will update this Privacy Policy when our information handling practices change or as required by law. We publish the most recent version of the Privacy Policy on our sites.
